Recovery First Proud to Support a Landmark Weekend for Bike Trial in Scotland

At Recovery First, we believe that success is built on resilience, determination and the willingness to tackle obstacles head on. Those values extend beyond the work we do with law firms and professional advisers; they’re also why we’re proud to support the sport of Bike Trial.

As sponsors of both the inaugural Scottish BIU Open Championship and Round 3 of the British National Trials Cup, it was fantastic to see riders from across the UK descend on the Bob MacGregor Trials Academy in Dunlop, Ayrshire, for a memorable weekend of competition.

A Sport Like No Other

Bike Trial remains a niche discipline in the UK, but one with a unique and welcoming culture. Unlike many sports, riders at grassroots level often compete alongside elite athletes, sharing the same sections, waiting in the same queues and learning from the very best in the world.

That accessibility is one of the reasons Recovery First is so passionate about supporting the sport. Young riders are given the opportunity not only to watch their heroes in action but to interact with them throughout the day, creating an environment that inspires participation and development.

Competition from Across the UK

The weekend attracted competitors from every corner of the country, with riders making the journey from locations as far afield as Kent and Cornwall to compete in Ayrshire. Sunday’s event also recorded the largest-ever British entry for a Bike Trial competition held in Scotland, highlighting the continued growth and popularity of the sport.

The standard of riding was exceptional, with Britain’s leading athletes showcasing their skills across both days of competition. At the highest level, spectators were treated to outstanding performances from Oliver Weightman, Adam Morewood, Eddie Weightman, Ethan Pyle and many others.

Inspiring the Next Generation

Recovery First was particularly pleased to see the continued rise of female participation in the sport.

Current British number one Daisy Craig delivered another impressive weekend, while Scotland’s Sarah Tait continues to blaze a trail for female riders, set to become Britain’s first woman to compete at Elite level internationally in Bike Trial.

Their success demonstrates the importance of visible role models in encouraging participation. As the saying goes, “You can’t be what you can’t see,” and riders like Daisy and Sarah are helping inspire more young girls to get involved and challenge themselves in the sport.

A Community Effort

Events of this scale rely on the dedication of countless volunteers, organisers and supporters.

Recovery First extends its thanks to the section-setting teams, observers, officials and administrators whose efforts behind the scenes made the competitions possible. Special recognition also goes to Bob MacGregor Trials Academy and the Kickstart Café for providing a superb venue and welcoming atmosphere for riders and spectators alike.

Proud to Support Grassroots Sport

While Recovery First specialises in helping law firms navigate periods of transition and maximise value through strategic planning and managed legal work run-off, we’re equally proud to support initiatives that encourage perseverance, ambition and community spirit outside the workplace.

Congratulations to every rider who took part over the weekend and to everyone who contributed to making the events such a success. We look forward to continuing our support for Bike Trial and seeing the sport go from strength to strength in the years ahead.
